Additional classroom capacity without construction
This secondary school urgently needed additional classroom space while the existing school building was being refurbished. Instead of waiting for new construction, the management opted for a rental solution: 18 modular units from Idelco, delivered and installed on the existing hardstanding next to the school buildings. This allowed classes to proceed as usual at the start of the school year, on their own campus.
Spacious classrooms across two storeys
The units were linked together and stacked two high to form a single two-storey building. By connecting multiple units, spacious classrooms are created without disruptive partition walls, featuring large windows and roller shutters for ample daylight. They also boast smooth, easy-to-maintain walls, an acoustic ceiling with flush lighting, and sufficient power outlets and data connections for digital whiteboards and laptops. A galvanised exterior staircase with a landing and handrail provides safe access to the upper floor.
Air conditioning and heating: studying in any climate
Each room is equipped with air conditioning and heating. In winter, classrooms quickly reach optimal temperatures, while during warm days in May and June, the interior remains pleasantly cool. The units are fully insulated in the floor, walls, and roof, which, combined with the climate control, ensures a quiet, comfortable learning environment – throughout the entire school year.
Renting is the logical choice for schools
A school typically knows precisely how long it requires additional classrooms: for the duration of works or a peak in pupil numbers. A rental solution means they only pay for that specific period, without investment and without the lengthy permit process for a permanent building. Idelco delivers the finished units from its own production facility in Zwevezele, installs them in a few days, and collects them afterwards.
