Additional classroom capacity without new build construction
This secondary school required additional classroom space at short notice while the existing school building underwent renovation. Instead of waiting for a new build construction, the management opted for a rental solution: 18 modular units from Idelco, delivered and installed on the existing hardstanding next to the school buildings. This allowed lessons to continue as usual at the start of the school year, on their own campus.
Spacious classrooms across two storeys
The units were linked together and stacked two high to form a single building with two storeys. By connecting multiple units, spacious classrooms are created without disruptive partition walls, featuring large windows and roller shutters for ample daylight, smooth and easy-to-maintain walls, an acoustic ceiling with flat lighting, and sufficient power sockets and data connections for interactive whiteboards and laptops. A galvanised external staircase with landing and handrail provides safe access to the upper floor.
Air conditioning and heating: studying in any climate
Each classroom is equipped with air conditioning and heating. In winter, the classrooms quickly reach optimum temperature, while during warm days in May and June, the interior remains pleasantly cool. The units are fully insulated in the floor, walls, and roof, which, combined with the climate control system, ensures a quiet, comfortable learning environment – throughout the entire school year.
Renting is the logical choice for schools
A school typically knows precisely how long it will need additional classrooms: the duration of works or a peak in student numbers. With a rental solution, they only pay for that specific period, without the need for significant capital investment or the lengthy permit process for a permanent building. Idelco delivers the finished modular units from its own production facility in Zwevezele, installs them in a matter of days, and retrieves them once the rental period concludes.
