Continued sales during dealership refurbishment
A car dealership undergoing refurbishment cannot simply close its doors: new models must be displayed, customers expect a professional reception, and sales continue. For this BMW and MINI dealer, Idelco therefore built a temporary garage using modular units, right next to the existing building. The result is a fully-fledged sales point that doesn't look like a temporary fix, but rather a permanent branch reflecting the brand's corporate identity.
A showroom with full-length glass panels
The ground floor was configured as a display area. Multiple units were connected to form one open space without intrusive partitions, featuring large glass panels along the entire facade, ensuring that the vehicles are perfectly visible from the street. Inside, the new models are presented on a smooth, dark floor finish under sleek lighting, with space for accessories and promotional materials. Air conditioning and heating provide a pleasant climate for both visitors and sales personnel.
Sales offices on the upper floor and sanitary facilities
Above the showroom, a second storey was added for the sales offices, accessible via a galvanised outdoor staircase with a landing and handrail, clearly signposted with the dealership's wayfinding. Here, salespeople have quiet meeting rooms to discuss files and quotes with their customers. Sanitary facilities were also integrated into the overall structure, ensuring staff and visitors have everything they need without having to return to the main building.
Garage door for smooth vehicle entry and exit
A showroom is of little use if you can't get the cars inside. Therefore, Idelco installed a garage door with a ramp in the side facade, wide and high enough to allow vehicles to enter and exit smoothly. New models can be swapped in minutes, without the need for hoisting equipment or having to break open the facade.
Modular units for the automotive sector
This project demonstrates the extent of modular construction: a stacked structure with a showroom, offices, sanitary facilities, and a garage door, finished in the brand's colours and erected in just a few days. After the refurbishment, the units will be dismantled and either returned or redeployed elsewhere.
