Maintaining sales during dealership renovation
A car dealership undergoing renovation cannot simply close its doors: new models must be showcased, customers expect a professional reception, and sales must continue. For this BMW and MINI dealer, Idelco therefore constructed a temporary garage using modular units, right next to the existing building. The result is a fully functional sales point that does not appear to be a temporary solution, but rather a genuine establishment reflecting the brand's corporate identity.
A showroom with full-length glass partitions
The ground floor was configured as a showroom. Multiple units were connected to form one open space without disruptive partition walls, featuring large window sections spanning the entire façade, ensuring the cars are perfectly visible from the street. Inside, new models are displayed on a smooth, dark floor finish under crisp lighting, with space for accessories and presentation materials. Air conditioning and heating ensure a pleasant climate for visitors and sales staff.
Sales offices on the upper floor and sanitary facilities
Above the showroom, a second storey was added for the sales offices, accessible via a galvanised external staircase with a landing and handrail, clearly signposted with the dealership's wayfinding. Here, sales representatives have quiet meeting rooms to discuss dossiers and quotations with their customers. The entire complex also integrated sanitary facilities, ensuring that staff and visitors have everything they need without having to return to the main building.
Garage door for smooth vehicle entry and exit
A showroom is of little use if you cannot get the cars inside. Therefore, Idelco installed a garage door with a ramp in the side facade, wide and high enough to allow vehicles to drive in and out smoothly. New models can be swapped in minutes, without requiring lifting equipment or having to break open the facade.
Modular units for the automotive sector
This project demonstrates the extent of modular construction: a stacked structure featuring a showroom, offices, sanitary facilities, and a garage door, finished in the brand's colours and installed in just a few days. After the renovation, the units are dismantled and either returned or redeployed elsewhere.
